A Dirty Word: Tip Tuesday!

Today I’m sharing a DIRTY word I want you to STRIKE from your vocabulary.

The “D” word.

And it’s not what you think…

It’s a word our culture has NORMALIZED because far too often we speak with a sense of #entitlement

But what if we didn’t?

What if we EARNED our reward, without assuming we DESERVE total happiness.

Is this what “The Pursuit of Happiness” really means?

Stay tuned for more Tip Tuesdays!

Taking Off My Mask!

I’m finally doing it! I’m taking OFF my mask… but it’s not what you think…

No more hiding behind a mask of fear, anger, frustration,… you name it.  The things that once held me back will no longer serve a purpose to me.

I’m embracing my true essence of HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY.

What mask are YOU hiding behind?

What’s your TRUE essence? Are you going to JOIN me?

Take your mask(s) off. I’m here to help you when you’re ready.

Happy Labor Day: Embracing Labor in the Midst of COVID-19

Happy Labor Day!

I have a cute little girl story for you.

Labor Day used to be celebrated on the 1st of September which happens to coincide with my birthday. As a child, I remember naively thinking, “I know my mom went into labor to give me birth, but so did other mothers. Why are we celebrating my mom’s labor?” Sweet isn’t it?

I know some of you are probably doing a psychological eyebrow lift that I didn’t focus on my birth, but I prefer focusing on my understanding that my mom labored to receive something.

Today we celebrate Labor Day. Because without men and women working we would come to a virtual standstill. If that was ever a “what if?” scenario COVID-19 declared it front and center. We know what the essential front-line personnel did for us day after day, week after week, month after month during the pandemic. But today is also a day to celebrate workers. No workers mean no restaurants, no hair salons, no gyms. No teachers, no truck drivers, no piano lessons. Customers can still shop for food, supplies, even luxury goods on-line. But, without workers, those orders wouldn’t get filled. Without workers our food wouldn’t get picked in the fields. Without workers, our garments wouldn’t be sewn.

Today we celebrate and embrace LABOR… the men and women WORKING to keep our economy strong.

Happy Labor Day to ALL the workers.

FROM BROKEN TO BANNER YEAR!

September 1, 2020 brings MANY reasons to celebrate!

As I enter a new year of life (Happy Birthday to me!), I also celebrate the victories of my children this week.

But beyond birthdays & family achievements, I’m celebrating my new YEAR END goal for 2020, despite the turmoil we’ve encountered with a global pandemic.

Stay tuned for KEYS to SUCCEED, as we move forward (COUNTER CULTURE) with an intentional plan of ACTION!

Strike the SH**** Word: Tip Tuesday with Annette

WHAT’S THE SH**** WORD YOU NEED TO STRIKE FROM YOUR VOCABULARY?

(and how are swear words taking away from the effectiveness of what you actually want to say?)

So what’s this WORD that we need to REMOVE from our everyday conversations:
“SHOULD” (and “shouldn’t”)

Using SHOULD creates opportunity for EXCUSES.

Saying Should -OR- Shouldn’t INVOKES SHAME.

Instead of choosing these words, make the conscious choice to DECLARE your INTENT (when you’re READY).

START LISTENING to those around you. Take notice of the follow through or excuses that follow these statements.

I encourage you to begin DECLARING your intent to create a meaningful commitment to ACTION.
